A story of over 50 years
Hotel Miralago holds a prominent position among the historical activities to be preserved and safeguarded in the municipality of Bossico. The business originated from the will, enthusiasm, and passion of Angelo Arrighetti who, upon returning from the war and being unemployed, while supporting his family in their farming and livestock activities, sought his place in the world and started working as a cook at a hotel on Lake Iseo.
Starting in 1928, the family began the activity of renting rooms to families from Crema who used to spend their holidays on the plateau in the building on Via IV Novembre, which is now the hotel's current location. In 1948, the winning idea was born: to open an ice cream parlor! With genuine and rich products from their agricultural activities, such as milk and butter, Angelo opened an ice cream shop and it was an immediate success. Encouraged by the good outcome of the ice cream shop, in 1950, together with his wife Lucia Rolandi, the inauguration of a restaurant with traditional dishes of the Bergamo province took place. The progenitor was a man with great ideas and projects, and thus, starting in 1969, various expansions of the restaurant and hotel activities were implemented. First, the building was enlarged by adding 2 floors, resulting in 24 rooms. In 1972, a tennis court was built, and finally, in 1974, the salon, the reception, and the new kitchen were realized. In 1988, the children Bruno and Federica also actively joined in the management of the hotel business and together they developed and carried out a series of improvement projects, including the parking lot, the garden with fountains, private bathrooms for the rooms, an elevator, and an annex with 3 additional rooms.
The ongoing renovations over the years have undoubtedly enhanced the environment and strengthened the image of Miralago, without ever losing sight of the tradition and history of the Arrighetti family. Thus, the process of improving the business never stops, and in 2001, a project was implemented to enhance the garden and terrace, offering an elegant venue for summer entertainment. In 2005, the balconies and facades of the hotel were redone, the top floor was expanded, and a room for guest entertainment was created. In 2007, attention was focused on furnishing some of the rooms and their respective bathrooms.
The hotel was managed by Bruno and Federica until 2021, and then it passed entirely into the hands of Bruno, who still manages it together with his wife and their 4 daughters, continuing to uphold the values of quality and hospitality that have been passed down over the years, making it a point of reference for tourists and local residents.
Hotel Miralago received the recognition of "Historical Activity" from the Lombardy Region, awarded to shops and establishments characterized by the continuity over time, for at least 40 years, of their management, signage, and merchandise offered.
